This year’s Oribe x Kustaa Saksi holiday collection showcases Saksi’s distinctive visual language across the brand’s limited-edition gift sets. The packaging design employs ornately layered gold foils, intricate embossing and rich detail – capturing both the generosity of the season and the craftsmanship that defines Oribe’s ethos.
To bring this collaboration to life, Oribe also commissioned Saksi to create a one-of-a-kind woven tapestry inspired by the collection’s artwork. Measuring over ten feet long and crafted over six months, the tapestry combines natural fibers such as mohair, alpaca, cotton and wool with unexpected materials like rubber, metal and phosphorescent yarns. Using a traditional Jacquard weaving technique, the piece celebrates the interplay between digital design and handmade craft.
“For me, the holidays have always been about slowing down, spending time with loved ones and appreciating traditions,” says Saksi. “I think of it a little bit like weaving, where every thread connects to something bigger.”

A Shared Thread of Excellence
Saksi’s work can be found in the permanent collections of the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the Cooper Hewitt Museum in New York and the National Museum of Finland. His collaborations with luxury fashion houses such as Hermès, Issey Miyake, Nike and Ferragamo showcase his ability to merge fine art with craftsmanship.
Since launching its first artist-led holiday collection in 2018, Oribe has used these collaborations to honour creativity, design and the beauty of thoughtful making. The Oribe x Kustaa Saksi partnership continues that tradition. A celebration of artistry, sustainability and the timeless spirit of craft.
For hairdressers, it’s a reminder that beauty is built on more than style, it’s woven from imagination, care and connection. Just as Saksi’s threads come together to form something extraordinary, so do the hands and hearts of creative professionals shaping the world of hair.
