We can see you raising your eyebrows at the mere idea of another tacky seasonal hair trend, but trust us, this one is worth a peek. Obvs, no actual tinsel was used in the making of this look, just a subtle festive hue with LOTS of shimmer and shine.

‘Tis the season to sparkle

The colour mimics the effect of ice by using thin strips of sparkling shades to create a super shiny finish.  Coined by Kate Reid, global design director for Colour.Me by Kevin Murphy, this fun trend is perfect for  blonde clients who want to enhance their shade.

Different from the popular dip-dye and ombré techniques, which are all about positioning, tinsel hair is about optimum reflective sparkle at the end of a colour service. So colour can literally be merged and placed anywhere in the hair, where it enhances natural highlights and glass-like shine.

In terms of maintenance, Kate recommends using KEVIN.MURPHY’s COLORING.ANGELS glosses, especially COOL.ANGEL gloss, as it will refresh, enhance and tone the colour, while moisturising and delivering shine. Are you sold? We reckon young fashionista clients will love it!
