Johanna Cree Brown and the Indola hair team were certainly busy at London Fashion Week. With stunning hair looks created for designers including Huishan Zhang, Labrum and 8ON8, Johanna shows off her effortless finesse for runway styling. Let’s take a closer look at some of the hairstyles so you can recreate them for clients in the salon.

Huishan Zhang
The hair looks for Huishan Zhang SS24 had to be flawless…not a hair out of place. The brand has immaculate, exquisite designs, and Johanna wanted to emulate that in the hair. The inspiration was wet, glossy sculptures with braided, knotted ponytails and witchy spiked ends.
Details
Johanna and the team created beautiful knotted and braided ponytails for models with longer hair. For the models with shorter hair, the look was a straight, pointed ponytail.
The key Indola products used were the Strong Setting Mousse, the Flexible Hairspray and the Finish Smooth Serum.
Labrum SS24
Looking at the Labrum SS24 collection, Johanna was drawn to the loops, circles, spaces, and seed designs on some of the garments. Labrum designs are unique, and Johanna wanted each model to have a bespoke look for the show. So, Johanna and the team created different, beautiful looks on the spot. We love a team who know how to improvise!
Key products
- Indola Curl Cream was used on the shorter hair looks to add hydration and create a more luxurious finish.
- The Strong Setting Mousse was used to prep and seal all the braided looks. This added support as the hair was shaped into sculptures.
- The Texture Rough Up was used on the edges of the hair to define and add gloss.
- The Glamorous Oil gave the looks a polished finish. Rubbing oil onto the hair helped tame fly-aways and created a soft, luxurious finish.
8ON8
This one is interesting for sure. The hair brief for 8ON8 SS24 was that the models needed to look like they’d been running through the forest in the rain. So, Johanna and the team created messy, wet-texturized looks.
- To create the 8ON8 look, use a generous amount of Indola Strong Mousse and Strong Lacquer and work the hair back off the face, leaving the sides and hairline out. Secure the rest of the hair back with crease-free clips and barber paper behind the ears.
- Apply the Indola Gel Spray and Texture Glue onto the hair that was left out around the face. Use this to create wild, wavy pieces of hair glued flat to the front, as if rain and wind had stuck them there.
- For textured or curly hair, scrunch Indola Strong Mousse through the ends to shape and add texture for a wild style.
