Jodie Breeds New Technical Educator

The Great Lengths team is growing, as Jodie Breeds has just taken on the role as Technical Educator – Hoorah to Jodie! We are really excited to see what this new role means for both Jodie and Great Lengths.

Jodie has built up heaps of experience and her passion for education makes her perfect for this role. Back when Jodie first qualified, she spent five years working at a local Toni & Guy salon where she specialised in colour. Then with the power of hopes, dreams and ambition, Jodie opened her own salon in Sunderland. As a salon owner, Jodie was keen to add hair extensions to her services due to client demand and the financial return for her business – there’s a reason why she’s won several business awards.

Jodie started working with Great Lengths and shorty after became part of the Artistic Team. This was when she met Louise Jenkins – Great Lengths Education and Creative Manager – who encouraged her to become an educator. Jodie was born to teach! It comes so naturally to her. After taking a step back from the salon, Jodie has found she has more time to spend on the things she loves best. Committing to just 2 days in the salon, Jodie has been able to join the Great Lengths team PERMANENTLY.

“I love the philosophy behind the brand. The story, the process, the ethicality – it’s fascinating. We are like a little family – we all have our strengths and weaknesses and can all bounce ideas off each other,” says Jodie Breeds.

What’s next?

In her role as Technical Educator, Jodie will be responsible for the brand’s online education. She will also be working in-house for Great Lengths, assisting salons as part of the technical team, as well as implementing certification training, bespoke education for existing salons and refresher courses.

Much has changed since Jodie qualified – most significantly, the delivery of the education itself. Covid restrictions saw Great Lengths move to digital training and Jodie now spends her time working virtually with students on a one-to-one basis, a process which ensures every day is different. “Some days we might have three or four sessions to run – you could have a stylist with no extensions experience, or one that has only worked with other brands previously and I really love that variety.”

“We are thrilled to welcome Jodie to the Great Lengths family” says Louise Jenkins. “Jodie’s knowledge and passion for extensions knows no bounds and her enthusiasm is infectious. We know that those lucky enough to learn with Jodie will be in very capable hands.”
