Introducing 2021 Schwarzkopf Professional Young Artistic Team

Schwarzkopf Professional Young Artistic Team is celebrating its 25th year with a new line-up of emerging talent for 2021 and who wouldn’t like a bit of celebration of the new, fresh and upcoming right now?

The Schwarzkopf Professional Young Artistic Team (YAT) is a rite of passage for Schwarzkopf Professional salons, providing their youngest team members with an opportunity to grow professionally, develop their skillset and build their profile through a full calendar of education, opportunities, and events. For the last 25 years, the team has basically served as an incubator for hairdressing talent and played a key part in building the careers of more than 150 hairdressers. Many of them are leading names in the hairdressing industry, like stylist Louis Byrne, salon group owner Gemma Hensman and Indola global brand ambassador, Paddy McDougall.

The latest team was selected in March 2020: shortly before the pandemic hit. The six stylists who will make up the team in its 25th anniversary year have been reunited to enjoy their first virtual education sessions. Hosted over two days by YAT managers Claire Pearson and Sarah Giblin as well as special guest Debbie G, the initial meeting covered the team’s exciting plans for the year ahead, as well as updates on all the latest launches from Schwarzkopf Professional. With Debbie’s help, the team also worked on their presentation skills using techniques and tricks for clear, confident presentation.

Congrats to these talented ladies – we can’t wait to hear more from them in the future. For now, let’s see what they said on their experience…

‘I really really enjoyed our induction,” says team member Alijah Nerheim from Rainbow Room International. ”It was great being able to practice presenting with Debbie and I also loved getting to know the girls all a bit more. I’m really looking forward to our photoshoot and getting a great education from Schwarzkopf and its ambassadors.”

‘It’s been a long time coming,” adds Lucy Routledge from Robert John. “I loved getting to know everyone properly and hearing what’s planned for the year ahead. I enjoyed learning how to do presentations and how to believe in myself more, as well as learning about new products coming out. I’m looking forward to learning more things and having fun with the team!”

Claire McGowan from Bombshell says: ”I loved our first days of training! It was nice getting to catch up with the team and I feel very lucky we were able to do it virtually and still get loads out of it. Doing presentations was daunting at first, but we learned so much with Debbie G even in a short time. Going through everything we have planned this year has made me really excited and I can’t wait to get started.”

”I loved the induction,” says Alannah Finnegan – Natural hair company. ”It was a great start to the year. I learnt so much from Debbie G, like how to present myself during interviews and presentations. It was brilliant to catch up with the girls and I’m looking forward to all the new experiences and education we will get throughout this year.”

Finally, Rachel Kirk from Brassy 2 Sassyy says: ”We learnt so much with Debbie – she’s absolutely fantastic and gave us all so much more confidence with presenting. It really pushed us out of our comfort zones, but we learned tips for life. It was really exciting to see what the year has in store, and we have some really big things to look forward to. I’m so excited and really buzzing to get stuck in and learn so much more.”
