Step by step: GL Tapes

Great Lengths Tapes are designed to create a fuller effect and long luxurious hair. Loved by stylists because of their fast application, they are suitable for adding volume, length and colour effects. They can easily be used for changing hairstyles and are a reliable basis for up dos. The medical grade adhesive strip is designed not to cause any tension and feels completely flat on the head – Amen to that!

If you’re not a Great Lengths stylist yet, check out this step by step. Once you know how easy they are to apply we have no doubt you’ll be rushing to join the team of certified stylists.

  1. Prepare your clients hair using Great Lengths Clean Remover shampoo to remove any excess oils. Section your client’s hair ready for application of GL Tapes.

  1. Using a pin tail comb, take a 2-3mm section below the application section. This needs to be the same width as the tape. Raise this section and bring down over the tape and smooth.

  1. Remove the second tape from the protective strip and apply directly on top of the first tape.

  1. Using the application tweezers, gently apply pressure to the tape to encourage the adhesive to bind.

  1. Cut the extensions to create a seamless blend between the client’s natural hair and extensions, removing the weight from the ends for a more natural finish.

  1. Style and finish with Great Lengths Soft Finish Spray.
