Graduation Day: Joico Color Excellence Programme

Over the past year, nine stylists have been part of an intensive 10-part colour course to become Joico Color Experts and on Monday 11th March, the 2023/24 class completed their final module and attended their Graduation on becoming Joico Color Experts at Laceys. It’s been a vibrant journey, but now these colour experts are ready to get back to the salon putting their newfound skills into practise.

Kicking things off with a creative challenge, students were tasked with creating a mood board that encapsulated all they had learnt over the last nine sessions. From cut to colour, styling to make-up, each detail was meticulously planned. Students then brought their models into the Laceys Studio and worked on bringing their vision to life.

The ceremony

A graduation ceremony concluded the day. The guest list included the students family, friends and salon colleagues who were greeted with drinks and refreshments at the door, whilst they eagerly waited for a showcase of talent to unfold.

The ceremony started with Laceys Educators, Anna & Odette, providing an insight into what the Joico Color Excellence Course entails, sharing photos of the students throughout the year. The students then presented their models and shared the process behind their mood board and colour process. The students then received their plaque, certificate and gift and were ready to throw their mortarboards in the air – marking the official culmination of their journey! What better way to celebrate than with a touch of Bollywood flair? As the class had done a superb job, Lacey’s surprised them with a performance by FatBoyZ Dance and VIB Dhol Players.

Everyone enjoyed a glass of fizz and refreshments to end the evening. Cheers to a new selection of Joico Color Experts.
