GLammies Award Winners 2023

News in of Great Lengths, Ireland’s leading hair extensions brand, hosting The GLammies 2023 in Dublin. The Glammies gala honoured hair extension specialists from across the country and with TV and radio presenter Brian Dowling as master of ceremonies. Held at Medley in the heart of Dublin, Great Lengths handed out eight awards to delighted winners.

Great Lengths says the GLammies are the ultimate awards for hair extension specialists. More than one hundred of Ireland’s top hair extensions experts gathered to celebrate the best in the sector. 

The GLammies celebrates the craft and creativity of hair stylists and salons across the Republic of Ireland and the business of extensions. There were six creative and two business categories, including the coveted Great Lengths Trophy for Extension Excellence. Stylists nationwide created their most daring and innovative looks to stand out amongst their peers in each category.

A panel of judges included magazine editors along with supermodel Sophie Anderton to choose the finalists of each category. The judges also awarded the Great Lengths Trophy for Extension Excellence, a truly impressive award.  

The big winner of the night is Laura Francis at Hession Hairdressing Clontarf, who took home the Great Lengths Trophy for Extension Excellence. Laura won for her strong reputation in the hair extensions industry and outstanding work as a Great Lengths Certified stylist.

CEO at HB Collective, the home of Great Lengths, Joscelin McCourt, says: “This is the 11th anniversary of the GLammies event, and the standard gets higher every time. The creativity, colour and cut of our finalists were without doubt the best to date and I would like to commend each and every one of our finalists and of course our eight winners”.

Great Lengths VIP model Aoife Walsh, fashion stylist Rebecca Rose and influencer Molly Roberts also attended. The guests supported the fantastic and hard-working stylists while RTÉ 2FM radio presenter Emma Power provided tunes until the early morning…sounds like it was a lot of fun!

And GLammies Creative Categories winners are…

Longer Length 

Calling all mermaids! Entrants were asked to demonstrate how Great Lengths hair extensions can add length to their client’s natural hair. They needed to seamlessly blend extensions into hair and create a truly exceptional transformation.

Enviable Volume

Great Lengths hair extensions are everyone’s best kept secret to thicker, natural looking hair. Great Lengths asked the stylists to create a final look using hair extensions to make even the finest hair look full and thick.

Captivating Colour

Let’s get creative! Stylists were asked to add colour to their clients natural hair using Great Lengths hair extensions. Bold or subtle, this had to reflect a fashionable, on-trend look which shows the versatility of Great Lengths hair extensions.

Creative Innovation

Stylists stepped out of their comfort zones to demonstrate unique and experimental concepts whilst creating their looks.

Bridal Creation 

Modern twists on classic styles, Great Lengths asked stylists to demonstrate how using hair extensions can create their clients’ dream wedding hair.

Best Newcomer 

Great Lengths asked the stylists: “Show us how you’ve set the world of hair extensions on fire! We’re looking for a newly certified hair extensionist who has demonstrated true success with the brand and created truly exceptional, creative final looks.”

Business Categories

Great Lengths wanted to recognise the most talented extension salons and stylists across Ireland. Judges looked for entries that showed how they used Great Lengths in their business to build a strong reputation, a loyal client base and an outstanding body of work.

All winners received tickets for a group tour of the Great Lengths production facility in Rome, with two nights 5* accommodation, meals and internal transfers for two people.

Winners also received a GLammies trophy, logos for marketing, social media coverage and plenty of PR across the country in both trade and local press. These benefits, which are certainly well-deserved, will help each salon and stylist stand out from the crowd.
