April’s looking a massive month for hairdressing – not only will salons be back open, but ghd, turns 20! To celebrate summer and a welcome and safe return to salons, ghd just dropped its latest collection – Summer Collection ’21 – and it’s looking fabulous!
Created in collaboration with session stylist Chris Southern, the ghd Summer Collection ’21 is a love letter to the music industry; featuring inspiration from strong female icons of the 90s and early 00s. Packed full of new ideas and techniques, just like your favourite Noughties mix CD – oh, the memories! The collection is set to inspire stylists and salons with dynamic ways to work with the full range of ghd styling tools and complementary heat protection styling products.
The styles
Formed of six styles, the Summer Collection ’21 features exciting techniques built around ghd’s award-winning range of styling tools.
They provide the perfect point of difference for salons, allowing hairdressers to create an on-trend menu of looks with a celebrity influence. Let’s have a look at them!
Bound Braid: Elevating those salon back-of-head shots and inspired by braiding and accessories, this look uses the ghd platinum+ to create texture and a leather ribbon to add contrasting textural interest.
Snatchy Versace: A little bit Ariana, a little bit Madonna, this super-sleek ponytail is all about height and length, finished with the ghd platinum+ for flawless flicks.
Summer Luxe: Super glossy lengths achieved with ghd max and ghd straight on, with face-framing twisted details, this look allows for personalisation with hair accessories – keep it simple or pile them on.
Shape Up: Created with ghd body goals and the ghd helios comb attachment for control and shape, this look features two ponytails twisted together for a modern updo with a fresh silhouette.
A-flicked: These supersize flicks are crafted with the ghd platinum+ and ghd bodyguard to create a retroinspired shape with a modern feel.
Beach Luxe: This look takes beach waves up a notch with a glam faux-blow, achieved with the ghd max styler – perfect for thick, long hair.
