As part of this celebration of the power of professional hairdressers, ghd has recruited an inspiring panel of talented stylists to act as their new Creative Artists; a collective of brilliant hairdressers, each of whom bring something different to the role. Over the next month, we’re profiling each of the new team…. Charlotte Mensah

Multi-award winning hairstylist Charlotte is the owner and artistic director of Hair Lounge in London. Trained under the Godfather of Afro Hairdressing, Winston Isaacs, she’s a renowned expert in curly textures.
Charlotte opened her salon in London’s Notting Hill in the 80s as a haven for Afro hair and has since won more than 20 accolades for her expertise. She was the first black female hairdresser to be included in the British Hairdressing Awards Hall of Fame in recognition of her award winning artistry and she continues to blaze a trail in the hairdressing community.At the forefront of the natural haircare movement since early 2000, she’s a renowned expert in the field and provides quotes to titles including ELLE, Vogue, Tatler and Harper’s Bazaar.
On top of this, Charlotte also boats a dedicated clientele in her salon, including stars from the world of music, film and fashion like Eryka Badu and Janelle Monae.
