A powerful message
To mark 16 years of supporting breast cancer charities globally, ghd’s 2020 pink collection is reminding women to Take Control Now – to give your boobs some mirror time, checking them often and regularly. This October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2020 and the stats are worrying: each year 120,000 women under the age of 35 are diagnosed with breast cancer – but 90% of 18-35 year old women check their boobs only a few times a year or less!
Check your boobs is the overriding message from ghd with the 2020 pink campaign. And just in case your clients are in any doubt about how to check their boobs, two cancer sufferers under the age of 35 helped the hair tool giant put together this amazing video that spells it out. It’s powerful stuff, so make sure you share it with your clients and use it to promote the gorgeous dusty pink range of heated tools.
Representing different shapes, sizes and ethnicities, the ‘Take Control Now’ Boob Wall at ghd’s Dean Street Headquarters in Soho has been created to raise awareness and to start the conversation around checking your breasts regularly. The window installation reminds passers-by to touch, squeeze and check their boobs; and to make it totally normal for everyone to talk about self checking, regularly. And what’s a better way to spread the word than with such a statement window in Soho full of them? See more HERE
Time to take control now
And to give women a regular reminder of the campaign, the brand has launched its limited-edition Take Control Now collection of electricals in a gorgeous dusty pink hue, with £10 from every sale donated to Breast Cancer Now. The collection includes the award-winning ghd platinum+ styler, ghd gold stylers and new helios hairdryer, all embossed with the central campaign message, Take Control Now, to ensure women don’t forget to self-check more regularly.
