Trust us, most of your female clients aspire to be strong, independent women. Yet romantic and feminine too, so why not draw inspiration from the hair look at Xu Zhi and answer their prayers.
Based on the 19th Century American poet Emily Dickinson, the Xu Zhi SS19 collection reflected her powerful attitude. For the hair, Johnnie Biles and his team used Fudge Professional to create a strong centre parting, contrasted with soft gentle waves, which draw upon Emily’s love of flowers.

Here Johnnie reveals how to create the look in your salon…

  1. Wet the hair in sections, then prep with Fudge Professional Tri-Blo
  2. Create a straight centre parting using a tail comb. Comb the lengths with a wide-tooth comb to drag out the texture
  3. Flatten the front section and clip it in front of the ears to flatten. Apply barber tape around the back of head to keep the hair close to the skull. Dry the lengths off lightly with a diffuser and leave to air dry for as long as possible
  4. Apply Fudge Professional Light Hed-ed Hair Oil generously through sections of the hair for a greasy-root look. For thicker hair with lots of texture, use Fudge Professional Mineral Paste through the lengths to weigh down the waves
  5. Finish the look with Fudge Professional Skyscraper
