Festival hair with UNITE

From mermaid waves to conjoined braids, UNITE stylists have rounded up five headline-worthy festival hairstyles that will not only complete your upcoming festival look, but defy the desert elements. Keep reading for the expert-approved styling tips and the key Unite Hair products you’ll need to achieve each trend.

Mermaid Waves

Make room for these glossy mermaid waves to be the headlining act of all upcoming festivals! To achieve Yarelis Denise’s style, celeb hairstylist Akiko Russell polished the waves with SMOOTH&SHINE Styling Cream, followed by the waterless U:DRY Fresh Dry Conditioner, which not only tames frizz, softens and shines the hair, but also provides UV protection.

Long and sleek

Long & Sleek

Supermodel & Coachella queen Alessandra Ambrosio is a source of inspo for all festival goers. Last year she combined rave-girl and country diva to create an iconic desert look. “Starting on towel-dried hair, apply U Oil, which gives beautiful shine and protects hair from humidity-causing desert frizz, then blow dry the hair smooth. Before using my flat iron, I sprayed 7SECONDS Glossing Spray for extra shine, parted hair down the middle and finished the look with SESSION-MAX Spray to lock in the style” says stylist Dimitris Giannetos.

Conjoined braids

Conjoined Braids

Ensure your clients can dance the night away with this unique conjoined braid. “I used U Oil to add some shine and smooth out the hair before braiding. This is a great trick to moisturise your hair while styling. To conjoin the braids, I wrapped the ends of each braid to one another, secreted them with hairspray and secured in place with bobbie pins. You can also use a ribbon the same colour as your hair to wrap the braids together.” says Arianna Chaylene Blean who created the look.

Half-up ponytail

Half Up Ponytail

Keep your clients looking and feeling fresh with this cute half up style to take some of the heat off. To get Delaney Childs’ look, stylist Paul David, “started with big, bouncy waves then used TEXTURIZA Spray for added volume and texture, I finished with the extra hold finishing spray, MAXCONTROL Spray.”

Braided pigtails

Braided Pigtails

Braided hairstyles not only help protect the hair from humidity, but the style promises to stay in-tact from day to night. To get Christina Milian’s look, celeb hairstylist Shenise Sheena used 7SECONDS Detangler and 7SECONDS Glossing Spray. “Using 7SECONDS Detangler is key to keeping hair nourished. I apply it generously throughout hair before snatching it, and creating little braids in each pigtail. Instead of using heat, allow time for the detangler to penetrate into the hair cuticle to give hair the moisture that it needs, because it can get really hot and dry” says Shenise.
