It’s been quite a year

Ellie Avlon

It’s been a funny old year hasn’t it? Although 2021 has had its highs and its lows, we must not dwell; because the highs have been incredible. Especially for Avlon who have achieved one helluva lot this year. Let’s take a look back…

The Black Shoot

The first quarter may have been a write-off but Avlon were prepared to make up for it. Kicking off with ‘The Black Photoshoot.’ A breakthrough moment in the world of Black and Afro textured hairdressing. Read more HERE

Run 5, save lives

In May, General Manager – Graham Oakes supported ACLT’s campaign for a sponsored 5k run. Although, Graham got the bug and kept on running…

Tribu-te: The Black Issue

What an achievement! Kudos to both Avlon and Tribu-te for making this happen. If you didn’t catch a chance to read the issue we suggest you check it out HERE.

Training Standards

In July, it was announced that training for afro hair should fall under the standard hairdressing qualification. A move that Avlon very much welcomed.

Bonded by Blood

Avlon continued to support ACLT with the Bonded by Blood campaign which saw the brand encouraging people to give blood. Find out more HERE

The Big One

The Big One trophy came back for it’s third year, and obviously it made sense for Avlon to sponsor The One for Afro category.

Salon International

Making a comeback  at the ExCel centre in London, hairdressers gathered around the Fellowship stand to catch the Avlon team at work and showcasing work on afro textured hair.

The One For Afro Winner

Hair Pieces

A brand new show with a brand new concept. Hair Pieces was a walk-through show that allowed the artist to be as creative as can be. Following on the tour was a ceremony for The Big One trophy. Graham Oakes crowned Anthony Grant as the winner for The One for Afro. See more HERE

And that’s a wrap. We cannot wait to see what exciting things are to come next year!
