With two decades of her life dedicated to the hairdressing industry, we caught up with no other than Chantelle Garrison, owner of Addictions Hair and Beauty about her career journey and why Avlon products are the best range for her salon.“I started my career as a self-taught hair stylist as a young teenager carrying out braids, and hair styling for family and friends. I became quite popular in my community and decided to complete my qualifications in hairdressing. I then worked as a hair stylist in a few hair salons around the West Midlands but decided to become freelance early on as I felt I had more to achieve for myself. I built up a large clientele as a mobile hair stylist working all around the West midlands and Staffordshire area. My clientele was diverse as I carried out my work on all hair types. I decided to open my salon in 2015 as I felt it was the right time to follow my desired dream of having my own base. 8 years later I have succeeded in building a great salon experience. I specialise in all hair types and textures. I carry out a range of hair services on a day-to-day basis: Afro hair specialist treatments, Hair styling, Hair colour, Balayage, Colour Corrections, Hair extensions, Braiding, Hair treatments and wig making,”says Chantelle.
As a proactive hairstylist and business owner – who takes pride and has a passion for ‘making a difference ‘within the hair industry – Chantelle has a drive to be creative and innovative in her day-to-day work. “I have a strong empathy and understanding for the needs of a diverse clientele and have a passion to showcase my skills. I enjoy working with all hair types, particularly afro and textured hair as it’s so versatile. I love creating hair journeys to benefit the longevity of my client’s hair. I have extensive experience in the art of hairdressing afro hair and all hair types. I have won salon awards for ‘Hair Stylist of the Year’ for the West midland’s region, Marketing Trailblazer 2020 and Hairstylist of the year 2021 – The British Hair and Beauty awards. I was also a regional finalist for Best Colourist – Trend Vision 2019.”
