Avlon announces more education 

Good news, Avlon announces more education. As you may have heard, Avlon is making 2024 a year of education, helping you develop cutting, colouring, styling and haircare skills. So far, we’ve learned about a couple of the courses available to you, and we have fantastic news. There’s more. That’s right, Avlon has four more in-person courses for 2024 to help refine and advance your hairdressing career. If you’re super-keen to start up-skilling, let’s look at some of your options: 

Avlon announces more education…

Making the Cut 

  • Duration and cost: 2 day – £400 
  • Date: 22nd 23rd April 2024 

Avlon designed this course to enhance your hair cutting skills for natural texture and chemically treated Afro hair types. You’ll revisit essential fundamentals and explore a range of cutting techniques, specifically tailored for Afro-textured or chemically-treated hair. 

The training focuses on adapting to different hair types, curl patterns and densities, ensuring each haircut is customised. Additionally, you’ll learn how to navigate the unique challenges of cutting chemically-treated hair. By blending knowledge, precision, and creativity, this course prepares you to create haircuts that cater to the varied requirements of your clients, while utilising the Avlon product portfolio. 

Suitable for: NVQ 2 Stylists/Colourists with 2+ years of salon experiences gained through working on clients.

SOS Texture Managment 

  • Duration and cost: 2 days – £400 
  • Date: 13th -14th May 2024 

The aim of this two-day workshop is to focus on the Avlon texture management product ranges: Affirm, Texture Release, Thermal Wonder and Uberliss Keratin treatment. Dive into the art and science of smoothing or straightening. Looking at who is suitable, what to consider, when and why. Explore the fundamentals of texture management and discover the features and benefits of each product line and deliver a perfect service with confidence. 

Suitable for: NVQ 2 Stylists/Colourists with 2+ years of salon experiences gained through working on clients. 

Intro to Curly and Coily Hair 

  • Duration and cost: 1 days – £200 
  • Date: 24th June 2024  

This course is perfect if you want to get to grips with texture. This introduces you to the artistry and science of working with curly and coily hair types, while offering insights into their unique structures and needs. You’ll gain hands-on experience in washing, conditioning, detangling, and mastering various styling techniques to enhance natural texture. The course also includes guidance on selecting products for styling and to maintain the health of the hair and scalp. By the end of this course, you’ll be equipped with the essential skills and knowledge to confidently manage and celebrate the beauty of curly and afro hair. 

Suitable for: Stylists of all levels that want to improve their skill set and ability to work confident with Curly and Coily hair types.

Braids & Twists 

  • Duration and cost: 1 day – £250 
  • Date: 8th July 2024 

Avlon specifically tailored this course for those keen to delve into the world of braids and twists. Designed with beginners in mind, Avlon guides you through step-by-step, easy-to-follow techniques that you can practice and apply in various settings to enhance skills. You will explore the rich history of braids and their application in the industry. Discover the essential products and equipment needed for braiding and learn how to adapt to different hair types. This course is your gateway to mastering braids and twists, equipping you with skills that are both versatile and in-demand. 

Suitable for: NVQ 2 Stylists/Colourists with 2+ years of salon experiences gained.
