Essential Looks

Recently, we explored the latest Schwarzkopf Professional Essential Looks collection: Re-Rooted. To keep the inspiration high, we’re looking now at Acid Riot, a second capsule collection from Essential Looks. With bright and playful colour looks, the two trending styles in Acid Riot will undoubtedly turn heads.

About Essential Looks

If you’re unfamiliar with this series, Schwarzkopf Professional’s bi-annual Essential Looks collections share new techniques and services with professional hairdressers. Every Essential Looks trend features one ‘stop-and-stare’ Catwalk Look and one ‘want-to-wear’ Salon Look.

Essential Looks aims to inspire and educate you as a professional hairdresser, so get creative. We look forward to seeing how you interpret Acid Riot.

Acid Riot, inspiration

The creative team says Acid Riot is for the self-made and non-conformist client. The looks have a raw, revolutionary energy – centred on looking and living your way. Lines are blurred, and traditional identities are broken down and redefined. This collection channels the fluid, inclusive, constantly shifting world of today’s trendsetters and tastemakers.

Catwalk Look

Acid Riot Catwalk Look: Willow

Cut by Nick Irwin, who says the Acid Riot trend, “embraces a fluid way of thinking and working, which creates a very modern texture and attitude.” This 90s-inspired, tailored yet torn-edged look presents an effortlessly strong attitude. Colour is by Grace Dalgleish; the look feels worn in and washed out, creating a perfectly imperfect colour that will make you look twice.

Acid Riot Salon Look: Jénèva

Nick Irwin’s Acid Riot Salon Look is a seamless, freehand, dry haircut. The style taps into the natural pattern of the hair. Grace Dalgleish applies colour with a personalised palette and a DIY aesthetic. The finish is grungy.

Salon Service, #AcidRinse

The Acid Riot Salon Look is a personalised collaboration with your client. Grace Dalgleish’s Acid Rinse colour service looks ‘self-made’, utilising palette and placement to create hair colour with personality. Grace combines bold and pastel tones. The freehand technique allows you to construct perfect ‘imperfections’ by painting with freedom and purpose.

Grace says, “Use finer slices when layering your tones to create a softer feeling. Keep your sections big and chunky for higher impact.
