Achieve the Scandi Hairline with Fudge Professional

Have you heard of the Scandi Hairline? This colouring technique is all over social media and we can see why. The basis of the Scandi Hairline is to lighten baby hairs around the face and hairline to create a natural lift which is softer than typical highlights. Ideal for clients who don’t want the hassle or commitment of high-maintenance colour. The best part is that the Scandi Hairline can be adapted to suit your non-blonde clients. Simply use a colour warmer and lighter than their natural shade.

To help us unpack this trend we’ve asked Jonathan Andrew, Fudge Professional global ambassador, to share tips and tricks for helping you perfect the look. Jonathan also shares at-home haircare advice for the Scandi Hairline that you can pass onto clients.

Scandi Hairline with Jonathan Andrew

Jonathan: “The Scandi Hairline technique involves lightening baby hairs around the face and the forehead hairline. Use a fine-toothed comb to pick up the baby hairs and colour them a few shades lighter than the natural hair colour. This softens the roots around your client’s face, making it look naturally sun-kissed.

“The Scandi Hairline grows out less harshly than highlights and is a great way to lighten hair in-between appointments. The technique also aids the condition of your client’s hair as they can go blonder without the frequent, all-over bleaching. The Scandi Hairline is not exclusively for blondes, other hair colours can use this technique with a much warmer shade of blonde to lighten up their hair and face.”

Care advice for the Scandi Hairline

Jonathan: “A purple shampoo is important for the best Scandi hairline at-home maintenance as the lightness of the blonde is key for this look. I recommend the Fudge Professional Clean Blonde Damage Rewind Shampoo. This sulphate-free shampoo will help give your clients their brightest blonde yet. This also knocks out harsh yellow tones. Clients can apply once a week, focusing on the hairline, to erase brassy tones and keep it looking brilliantly blonde. Plus, the Opti-Plex technology penetrates deep into the hair core to reconstruct bonds after chemical, styling, and environmental damage.”

Thanks to Jonathan Andrew for sharing these tips. We look forward to seeing all the Scandi Blonde looks.
