2023 Wrap

Year end approachs, so it’s time to look back and celebrate the whirlwind of 2023. Maybe you have favourite hairdressing moments you’d like to remember, or top looks to recall? Unite certainly does, and is willing to share! In 2023, celebrity hairstylists Cesar Ramirez, Andrew Dylan, Narad Kutowaroo and Sophie Sugarman created killer looks using Unite products. Bebe Rexha – 70s Blow-dry  

Thanks to the stylish Margot Robbie and the fantastic Barbie film, barbiecore took 2023 by storm. Celebrity stylist Cesar Deleon Ramirez created a 70s blow-dry using Unite products for musician Bebe Rexha, giving major Barbie vibes.  

Cesar says, “Bebe Rexha’s red-carpet glam for the 2023 Grammy Awards was inspired by the Iconic styles of the 70s. Jerry Hall, Farrah Fawcett and Jaclyn Smith have always influenced my work. I wanted the hair to give a retro blonde-bombshell look and compliment the vintage silhouette.” 

Cesar breaks down the look: 

1. To start, I applied BLOW&SET Lotion on damp Wildform Wig hair to set and hold the shape 
2. Using a small ceramic round brush, I smoothed out each section 
3. Once dry, I sprayed the weightless and translucent TEXTURIZA Spray to the root area for volume and grip 
4. Using a 1.5″ marcel iron, I curled and over-directed each section forward, then clipped it to cool and set 
5. After installing Bebe’s wig, I brushed each section out. Then I sprayed the flake-free and brushable Lé:Play Hairspray for an all-day hold that is soft and bouncy with a satin finish 

Madelyn Cline – Lived-in waves 

Unite loved actress Madelyn Cline’s lived-in waves. This look is perfect to take your client from day to night.  

1. See how celebrity stylist Andrew Dylan created this look: 
2. To prep, I blow dried 7SECONDS detangler into the hair. This lightweight product seals the cuticle and protects the hair from UV rays and heat 
3. My quickest hair-hack to add structure and shine is to split the hair into large sections and coat in 7SECONDS Glossing Spray. This is my secret weapon to achieve glossy, beachy waves. The product adds texture while creating shine that doesn’t feel oily or heavy. I added bends to the hair by rotating my flat iron; personalising Madelyn’s look 
4. To define Madelyn’s waves, I used SMOOTH&SHINE Styling Cream on my fingertips, tweaking in around the head and face. I adore this lightweight cream because it is smoothing and has hair-health benefits. You can use on wet or dry hair to polish your look 

Molly Marsh – Volumised up-do 

This glamorous up-do is perfect for any occasion, we say! Here’s how Unite ambassador Narad Kutowaroo created this look for influencer Molly Marsh at the Pride of Britain Awards. 

Narad’s guide: 

1. I spritzed the hair all over with U:DRY Plus+ to create texture, before lightly brushing the hair into a high pony-tail  
2. I sprayed BOOSTA Finishing Spray onto the loose hair and then loosely wrapped the hair around to create the bun. Pulling out any loose pieces. Then I sprayed all over again 
3. I curled the front pieces and sprayed TEXTURIZA to create volume & texture at the front 

Lauren Giselle Sintès – Slick-back wet look 

Using Unite products, Narad created a stunning slick-back hairstyle on model Lauren Giselle Sintès.  

To recreate this look in salon use… 

1. Apply EXPANDA Root Energizer for a wet finish with volume at the front 
2. Then a touch of SESSION-MAX Hairspray for maximum hold  
3. U-Oil to enhance the shine  
4. Finish with the 7SECONDS Glossing Spray to give an overall sheen 

Camila Coelho – Party ponytail 

Celebrity stylist Sophie Sugarman breaks down how she achieved influencer Camila Coelho’s stunning party ponytail using Unite products. 

Sophie’s breakdown: 

1. To achieve a super-sleek and shiny finish, I prepped the hair with 7SECONDS BlowOut Creme This helps make the hair manageable and glides through the hair effortlessly
2. I sprayed Lé:Play Hairspray throughout the hair and gatherd it back into a ponytail. This product is perfect for creating a sleek pony as it has control and is brushable
3. Once secured, I used a curling iron to add a textured wave and finished with 7SECONDS Glossing Spray to tame fly-aways and add long-lasting, high shine
