MCB 2021

Back to Live

Lauren The Blog

We dare to say it: Live events and gatherings for hairdressers are coming back, and proving so far, that we can do it safely. Over the Summer, we’ve attended several low-number hair dos and felt quite comfortable. Only last week, the ghd Professional Underground in August to celebrate the brand’s Unplugged launch was a masterclass in high-energy, respectful partying. Earlier in the Summer, the launch of the central London Electric Space we-work-meets-salon venue was similarly well attended and managed. Now we see the French are beating us to it with larger plans – and we find this encouraging.

MCB Paris 2021

BACK TO LIVE: FRANCE

Firstly, the renowned Paris exhibition, the MCB by Beauté Sélection is going ahead in a few days. Claimed as a leading international trade fair for the world of hairdressing and beauty (and certainly in our experience it is a good one), this annual and professional event is dedicated to the beauty market: hairdressing, aesthetics, makeup, nails and spa. On 4/5 September, the event brings together more than 50,000 professional visitors to Paris Expo Porte de Versailles… including nearly 300 exhibitors and more than 550 French and international brands. We note the rosters are heavily weighted to the French teams and presenters – a good move to avoid disappointment if travel restrictions change. But nonetheless, we’ll be watching with interest as a successful and well-attended fair will bode well for the UK and the Salon International due in mid October in London.

Hair Congress Paris

On 12th September, The Hair Congress and Tribu-te Show at the Folies Bergere in the heart of Paris follow on the MCB. Between 1-2000 will attend the famous theatre over the day to enjoy three separate but linked events: In the morning, Haute Coiffure Francaise demonstrates its renewal with a show. Then in the afternoon, the The Community Hair Show includes Davines, Toni&Guy, Mazella&Partners, and Noos Education. The jewel is of course the French edition of the Tribu-te Show, and promises live presentations including Alexandre De Paris, ES Project, Candice McKay, Christophe Nicolas Biot and Angelo Seminara. We doubt there are tickets but you can try: www.tribu-te.fr

HairClubLive

BACK TO LIVE: UK

Certainly in the UK there are tickets on sale for a raft of awards during the Autumn (watch out for THE BIG ONE from Tribu-te Magazine in mid November). Why not sharpen your social skills ready for a big push by joining us as at the HairClubLive #OpenChairNight on Putney, London on Monday 20th September. A small music venue, the Half Moon pub, plays host and the tickets are just £6 to begin the audience watching your friends and colleagues dare the chair.

C’mon – we have to support this return to normal… it’s time to believe!
