Sam Grocutt, one of the brand founders, shared that she experienced hair loss due to hormonal changes and weight loss. To address this and support clients experiencing the same, they developed a duo that targets two key areas of hair health: scalp and strand with the aim of restoring stronger, shinier, more resilient hair, especially during times of hormonal or lifestyle change.
The line-up includes Root Force Scalp Strengthening Serum, a leave-on serum that supports the scalp foundation for healthy growth, and the appearance of new hair growth over time. It’s recommended for clients experiencing thinning, shedding or lack of volume.
The Formula
Let’s debrief the formulation:
- A hair-redensifying peptide complex, combining keratin, collagen and elastin. It supports the scalp’s structural integrity and encourages healthier-looking growth by stimulating follicular activity, boosting collagen production and improving scalp circulation.
- Caffeine, a proven scalp energiser and stimulant for hair follicles. Improves scalp microcirculation to deliver essential nutrients while helping to reduce DHT, the hormone that causes hair loss by binding to hair follicles.
- Biotin, which supports keratin production and contributes to hair strength and elasticity.
- Rosemary and ginger extracts, which bring natural antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds, helping to protect the scalp from stress and support a healthy environment for hair growth.
- Bisabolol, an oil that helps to soothe and calm irritation, making it ideal for reactive scalps at the backwash.
Alongside it is Strand Surge, which works as a booster for any conditioner or mask, transforming it into a deeper repair treatment. Just a few drops are enough to start working instantly, resulting in softness, strengthand shine, while protecting hair from future breakage.
Key ingredients
The key ingredients behind this formula:
- Bond-building matrix (50%), a system of molecules designed to penetrate deeply into the hair cortex. It works by rebuilding the internal keratin network and creating new bonds where damage has disrupted the structure. It helps to improve strength, reduce breakage, and restore manageable hair.
- Creatine Complex A reinforces and fortifies the hair fibre. Enhancing elasticity and helping to protect against environmental stress. They describe it as strength training for the hair.
This is an interesting launch, especially for the formulations and the education behind the ingredients. Beyond the launch, it is important to understand what different formulations can do for our clients.
