There’s no denying the hair and beauty industry has been navigating uncertain times: rising costs, changing demand and plenty of pressure on salons and professionals. That’s why it’s genuinely refreshing to see positive momentum, and the UK Hair & Beauty Awards (HBA) expanding in 2026 is exactly the kind of news that gives us something to celebrate.
The UK Hair & Beauty Awards (HBA) is moving its annual awards ceremony from Birmingham to Manchester. The event will take over the AO Arena on August 15th 2026, marking a huge new chapter for the awards.

A bigger stage for a bigger industry
Manchester is no small move. The city has built a reputation for hosting major national events, from the BRIT Awards to MTV-scale productions, and now it’s hair and beauty’s turn to step onto the platform.
Founder and CEO Sophie Lux described the move as a “big leap”—but it’s also a powerful signal: hair and beauty isn’t a side category anymore. It’s a huge economic, cultural, and creative force… and it deserves events that reflect that.

Not just an awards night
What makes this shift even more exciting is that the UK Hair & Beauty Awards isn’t simply changing locations. It’s expanding the entire experience into a full-day, three-part event designed to bring the whole community together like never before:
-
A daytime trade show featuring leading and emerging brands
-
The UK Hair & Beauty Awards ceremony
-
An evening festival + afterparty with live entertainment, performances and networking
In other words: it’s not just about trophies it’s about connection, culture, community, and celebration.
