Denman Professional has had a busy six months finding ways to support their local community. Being a heritage brand bringing employment to their hometown and local area of Bangor, County Down just isn’t enough for Denman, and the company constantly seeks way to serve and support local (and national) causes. In fact, Denman has a cross-functional CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) team continuously dedicated to finding ways in which the company can go above and beyond to help. Here’s a round-up of just some of the CSR activity Denman has supported in the last six months.

Quilts for Carers
This amazing charity offers quilting workshops and the attendees create beautiful ‘quilty hugs’ to gift to care leavers in local Trusts. Each quilt is lovingly stitched and includes an inspirational label with mottos such as ‘Remember you are Brilliant’. Denman donated funds for wadding and backing material to help the charity complete projects and send the quilts off for young people exiting the care system. www.q4clni.org.uk

Ulster Wildlife
Volunteers from Denman joined the Trust to create a wildflower patch in the local Balloo Woodland Nature Reserve to aid the insect biodiversity in the area and attract more pollinators. The team cleared the top layer of turf, planted wildflower seeds and eagerly watered during the summer dry spell! The Ulster Wildlife team built a bee bank to provide space for insects to breed which will further aid the biodiversity in the area. www.ulsterwildlife.org
Great British Beach Clean
A team of 13 Denman colleagues hit the beach recently for the Marine Conservation Society’s Great British Beach Clean, collecting hundreds of items including nappies, plastic bags, balloons, disposable BBQ’s and clothing. Beach cleans are a regular for Denman being on the coast and it’s always a popular activity, whatever the weather! www.mcsuk.org

Macmillan Cancer Support
Last month Denman HQ raised an incredible £2000 with a sumptuous back sale and raffle. There were lots of delicacies on offer baked (and eaten!) by the team and every pound raised will help Macmillan continue their vital work supporting people living with cancer and their families. www.macmillan.org.uk
