Is Kim K’s pixie crop this season must-have style?

When Kim Kardashian debuts a new look, the world pays attention. Her latest transformation at Paris Fashion Week has everyone talking… Even if it is about where her hair-spiration came from (*looks to Kris*). The reality star and global trendsetter unveiled a striking pixie crop, marking a bold departure from her signature long, glossy waves.

We asked some of the industry’s leading creatives for their take on the trend and how the pixie cut is evolving for 2026, and what this moment means for stylists and clients alike.

“Pixie cuts have been cropping up everywhere – from strutting down the runway to being debuted by Kim Kardashian at Paris Fashion Week, and now they’ll be making their way back through our salon doors! Pixie cuts are a breath of fresh air, loved for their timeless appeal and ability to transform a person’s look. The pixie can give the illusion of thicker hair by adding volume and body, whilst also making for a bold, rejuvenating change for your clients.”

“The pixie cut – a true classic. The pixie cut can be tailored to suit a round face shape, playing on your more youthful appearance, whilst highlighting your best features. When looking to achieve the perfect pixie for your client, it’s essential to tailor the cut to the individual and create a look that is bespoke to them. I love a short, choppy pixie with lots of body and movement. As we move into 2026, I think we will begin to see a more relaxed version of the pixie with the lengths becoming longer and the cut becoming softer.”

Suzie McGill

“Kim going short is huge; she’s such a global trendsetter, and whenever she changes her look, clients take notice. The pixie crop feels like the next evolution of the modern, empowered woman’s haircut. It’s bold, confident, and refreshingly wearable. I think this will really encourage clients to step out of their comfort zones and experiment with shorter, more expressive shapes.

What’s great about the pixie is how adaptable it is it can be tailored to suit so many different face shapes, hair types, and personalities. Whether worn sleek and sculpted or with soft texture and movement, it’s a look that can be completely individualised. I definitely think we’ll see more clients asking for feminine, fashion-forward crops that feel fresh, liberating, and full of personality.”

Tracey Ann Smith

Tracey Ann Smith, Creative Director at Mood

“A pixie crop is a vibe and statement; it’s strong, fearless, and a total mood shift, it completely changes the way you carry yourself. Kim’s version is modern, edgy, and wearable, which makes it relatable for clients who want a fresh look that doesn’t feel intimidating.

We’re seeing more people willing to use a shorter cut to express personality and confidence, not just to try something new. The pixie is perfect for that, it’s versatile, easy to style, and works for a range of hair types and lifestyles. It’s a style that allows clients to make a strong change while keeping it practical, and that combination is what makes it so appealing right now.”
