The NHBF is putting together the 2023 list of top 100 industry influencers, so get your nominations in…you can even nominate yourself.
The NHBF introduced the index after the Lockdown to celebrate the hair and beauty professionals who champion and influence the industry. The influencers on the list generously share their knowledge, engaging with the industry through social channels.
Top 100 industry influencers; how to nominate
Nominations are open now and close on 31st July 2023 so get your votes quickly. This year’s awards are open to influencers with an active clientele or column. Nominees can be employed or freelance industry professionals who meet the criteria. The NHBF will not accept brands, salons and barbershops as nominees. This is about celebrating the individuals who influence our industry.

The NHBF says that each year they use feedback from previous lists to alter the criteria. An independent external agency judges nominees based on key principles, which include: Engagement, consistency of posting, the quality of content and its relevance to the audience, and the growth of following. The NHBF says they try to weed out anyone who has bought followers, but if these are historical, they can be harder to detect.
This year the Index will analyse Instagram, Tik Tok and YouTube. If your chosen nominees don’t have all three, they will not be penalised; it’s just how the analytics are measured.
The NHBF will announce the final list in November. Follow the NHBF on Instagram to be the first to know. We look forward to seeing who makes the final cut!
