A new year brings new hair trends. Who is excited to see the innovations and creativity of 2023? We are excited to share Fudge Professional brand ambassador Jonathan Andrew’s trends for 2023. Use these as inspiration for your clients’ styles in the new year.

Colour hair trends
Regarding colour, Jonathan predicts 2023 will bring an influx of pastel tones. Pantone’s colour of the year, Viva Magenta, will inspire globally with an array of soft shades. Jonathan explains that for those who usually prefer a bleached blonde look, more delicate colours will be the new go-to, including soft-light brunettes. Soft-light brunettes elevate the usual dark tones with bright highlights which help frame the face and create a multidimensional finish. Suggest soft-light brunettes for your clients who want their colour to pop!
Jonathan also predicts champagne blonde tones will gain popularity due to a resurgence of 70’s hairstyles. Who doesn’t love the chic styles of the ’70s? Jonathan explains that the champagne tone compliments big, dimensional hair. Subtle warm tones for blondes and brunettes will also be a massive trend for 2023, including the hot magenta shade! Although adding subtle warm tones won’t create an enormous change, they will give the hair depth and add richness.
Jonathan suggests using the Fudge Professional Clean Blonde Damage Rewind range for blondes to keep their hair looking salon fresh.

Blow-dries are back
As Jonathan explains, it’s looking like blow-dries will be an absolute must for clients in 2023! Ensure you create blow-dry friendly haircuts for clients in the new year. One look we will see in 2023 is the classic 70’s ‘Shag’ haircut. Accompanying these voluminous blow-dries will be polished finishes as 2023 will be about “laid back luxe,” Jonathan explains.
For the perfect blow-dry, Jonathan recommends the Fudge Professional Blow-Dry Aqua Primer, which includes hydrating hyaluronic acid and Weather-shield™ technology. This product delivers humidity resistance, frizz control, and visible shine.

Shorter hair is back
In 2023 we will see a resurgence of the bob! Jonathan predicts we will see the box-bob, a shorter, more structured cut worn with soft layers that enhance the shape. As Jonathan explains, people are getting more creative with hair styling, including classic looks. Textured pixie cuts are also coming back on trend in 2023. These shorter styles may be an exciting fresh start for your long-haired clients in the new year.
