He's a winner!

He’s a winner!

We partied hard at the British Hairdressing Awards (on Monday this week) courtesy of Schwarzkopf Professional who treated us to a fantastic night out – a UK Thanksgiving you might say! Sipping champagne at the reception, we loved spotting the best frocks, suits and heels arriving at the Grosvenor House Hotel on London’s Park Lane. The atmosphere was suitably high-octane, and after a delicious dinner and hilarious speeches from comedian David Walliams, it was all smiles and tears (mostly of joy) as the trophies were announced. The BHAs is always an enjoyable event with plenty of hype around it, but this year was super-special: We love the expression of optimism and enthusiasm despite continued economic difficulties in the market (improving but still tricky). Dressed in their finery, salon teams rocked up to a big-ticket event to celebrate the best photographic collections of the year – which probably most often cost upward of £10K each – and share their passion for hair. Sponsored by Schwarzkopf Professional (who were more evident and better branded than we’ve seen before… well done) and hosted by industry weekly magazine Hairdressers Journal, these awards are important markers in a year. They provide tangible evidence of high standards in UK hairdressing, and increasingly sophisticated imagery to showcase amazing talent. Bravo to all the winners and to the man who collected his 4th title as British Hairdresser of the Year, Akin Konizi. Respect to you all. Check out the full listing here
