News added 01/11/17: TRICKY
The unique combination of a hairspray and spray wax may be new to you – as it was us – but we have to say UNITE’s Tricky Spray is pretty special. It’s a kitbag essential for everyone in the #UNITEfamily, and now we’re sharing their secret weapon with you.
It adds texture, with the benefit of separation. It creates hold that is both malleable and strong – perfect for shaping medium to thick hair. For looks that require shine, hold and manipulation, search no more, Tricky is the ultimate spray to have in your arsenal.
Though, if you’re unsure and want to ease yourself into using this new killer combo, try UNITE’s Tricky Lite. With half the wax of the original Tricky spray, Tricky Lite provides a little wax, a little hold and lots of shine. Perfect for fine to medium hair, the weightless formula gives hold that you can manipulate with enviable results. Plus, both the Tricky and Tricky Lite are Paraben- and Sodium Chloride-free. Try them!

With natural thermal protectors in-built, it’s an ideal product to recommend to your clients for when they want to iron, curl or blow-dry their hair – and did we mention it also helps to reduce blow-drying time too?
From sealing and repairing the cuticle, to adding weightless shine and extending the life of hair colour – the U Oil is a real hair winner that your clients will love. If you needed any more persuading, it’s also Paraben- and Sodium Chloride-free too.
NB. It’s super stuff, so use sparingly! We’re told a little goes a long way.

News added 27/07/17: The new kid on the block, UNITE’s LIQUID Dust really isn’t like anything else around… I mean, a Liquid-Dust. But that’s what makes it so special. It’s a weightless and workable hair elixir that works hard to deliver volume, texture and hold like never before. You can use on wet or dry hair – you decide. So if you’re not sure, we’ve got the low-down and a step-by-step on how it works for each hair type:
ON DRY HAIR:
- Spray LIQUID Dust through dry hair from root to end – about 6 to 8 inches away. Formula sprays on as a liquid but instantly dries into a weightless workable matte finish.
- Simply lift, scrunch or tease hair into place. LIQUID Dust is flexible and pliable – you can even brush it our and build it back in; its volumizing properties activate and re-activate with every touch.
- You’re done already! No heat, no work-out – just volume, texture and hold. You can see the results here in this before and after. Easy peasy.
ON WET HAIR:
- After using a UNITE shampoo and conditioning system, spray LIQUID Dust through clean, combed, damp hair from about 6-8 inches away.
- For a wavy, tousled finish: hand-dry hair using fingers to lift and scrunch volume into place until desired results are achieved.
- For a smooth, full finish: blow-dry hair in sections using a large round brush to smooth up and out from root to end until completely dry.
News added 18/07/17: At the end of last month, the UNITE hair team was in action styling models for Siah Howard’s L’Atelier couture presentation at the Bankside Gallery in London. Heading up the UNITE hair team was session stylist Sven Bayerbach, who devised different looks for the eight beautiful models.
“For Siah Howard’s couture presentation we decided on three looks: a sleek knotted bun, afro texture and smooth, shiny waves in a centre parting. The hair needed to look young, effortless and elegant. The UNITE products are super versatile and perfect for creating these types of looks. My hero products backstage were: Blow & Set Lotion, Smooth & Shine Styling Cream, Lazer Straight Relaxing Fluid, U Oil, and Tricky Spray,” says Sven.
The models looked the definition of elegance during the show, and retained a youthful essence and the effortlessness of the brief. Huge congrats to Sven and his team on a successful show. Browse the gallery to see more …

It’s a beauty because not only does it deliver undeniable shine, it also define humidity and provides the hair with much-needed thermal protection. What a winner! This light and airy spray, doesn’t way your hair down; fights frizz and smoothes hair. Due to the dry texture of the spray, it is ideal for use before any heat styling, too.

Delivering results that will satisfy every client, the LAZER Straight Shampoo smoothes the cuticle without adding weight, combating and controlling curls, frizz and tangles. We’re pleased to see that it’s colour-safe, and sulphate-, paragon- and sodium chloride-free.
To seal the deal, try LAZER Straight Conditioner to lock-in moisture, enhance shine and leave the hair sumptuously soft. Again this weightless-feeling product, will tame frizz and flyaway and maintains the colour-safe, no nasties of its shampoo counterpart. If you’re looking for something new to try… this could be the one.

News added 23/09/16: We love to to see the #UNITEFAMILY get together, and were thrilled to hear about a Scottish soiree in Glasgow earlier this month. Hosted by Joe Coubrough of Hair and Beauty World; stylists James Hughes-Horn, Hayley Edwards and Ralpha Yates captivated the audience with a presentation of seven models live on stage. The stylists had spent all day prepping in James Horn’s salon before heading to nightclub, Lola’s, where the showcase took place. The versatility of the UNITE products was demonstrated with a number of editorial looks created on different hair types and lengths, including men’s. A nightclub was the perfect choice to convey the atmosphere and freshness of the fashion-forward brand. Guests at the event were thrilled by what they had seen: “This industry event was for hairdressers to share their knowledge with other hairdressers, and both existing Unite salons were there to learn new techniques and share their own tips and tricks, as well as potential new Unite customers. The atmosphere was relaxed and professional yet interactive as the audience were able to touch, feel and see the hair as we walked models through the audience.” We can’t wait to see what they do next…

News added 21/01/16: Daniel Jordan, GO24·7 European Art Director, worked his magic on the hair at Richard James’ LC:M AW16 collection last week. Celebrating London, the collection was an ode to “a great, clanking, salt-corroded and colour-rich hive of industry and glamourous intrigue”. To compliment this feel, Daniel was inspired by the “30’s East End docks where the diverse world of chic, clean-lined cruise liners and enormous, jam-packed container ships met as one. The street-savvy East-Enders who worked here were rough and ready but still wanted to look pristine with immaculate looking hair. A wearable, dirty/clean finish.”
