News added 16/04/15: Anderson’s Hair in Merchant City, Glasgow is making lots of noise about the need to promote the restoration of healthy honeybee colonies to their natural environment and the ethical production of honey and associated natural products. Apparently, the downturn in the number of colonies across Europe could have a detrimental effect on agricultural economies – without free pollination from bees, fruit crops will not thrive. During May, the salon will host a Bee Awareness Day, and invite guests to adopt a bee – £1 for a Drone, £1.50 for a Worker and £5 for the Queen herself.
Says Keith Anderson, Director, Anderson’s Hair [a Davines salon]: “We chose to support Plan Bee as its eco values work in synergy with Anderson’s Hair and Davines. Plan Bee demonstrate passion and commitment in creating a lasting contribution to the environment. Plan Bee’s ethos fits with the Anderson’s Hair brand message: #BeEco #BeHappy #BeCreative. We hope to spread awareness about the importance of bees, throughout the month and encourage clients to embrace this initiative.”
