News added 28/11/17: The Chain of Hope Gala Ball, held at Grosvenor House on Park Lane, was really something. A staggering £2.8 million was raised at the ball for the charity which supports and treats children worldwide suffering from heart disease.
As part of the Gala, Elie Saab entertained with a beautiful show of Haute Couture, with hair styled by the talented Fudge Professional team. The hair inspiration for the show came from the land of fairy-tales with gorgeously-soft, bouncy waves. Bjorn Krischker led the Fudge hair team to create the look, and below he’s given us his step-by-step:
• Apply Fudge Professional Tri-Blo to wet hair.
• Apply Fudge Professional Curve Maker from roots through to tips. This will add texture, and hold the waves in place – whilst also boosting shine.
• Blow-dry in sections using a round brush.
• Tong hair all over and keep in place until set.
• Apply Fudge Professional Dry Shampoo to roots to introduce more texture and bounce.
• Fix the whole look in place using Fudge Professional Skyscraper, and voila!
We love it. It’s very luxe, and very client-friendly too – you’ve got to try it.

News added 14/11/17: It has been all go on #PlanetF recently as Fudge Professional have been jet-setting around the UK on a five-date tour with HairClubLive. Long-time supporters of HairClubLive’s #OpenChairNight – an edgy, underground event that provides an ideal platform for emerging stylists – it is the perfect tie-in with Fudge’s disruptive and anti-ordinary approach in the industry. Over the five nights (Edinburgh, Glasgow, Cardiff, Manchester and London), more than 100 hairdressers opted to #DareTheChair for their 10 minute slot in front of the traffic lights. Getting into the supportive swing of things, Fudge Professional put up prizes each night too for Most Visionary Colour and Anti-Ordinary Style. In Edinburgh, Cardiff and Manchester, Fudge’s ambassador Dean Bradwell did the brand proud with some beautiful urban looks with plenty of colour-pop to tap into Fudge’s unique brand aesthetic; and in Glasgow, Sid Sottung took the ambassador slot to show why Fudge Professional are still first choice for men’s products with his super-slick styling display. Fudge are famously brave; loved world-wide for their bold styling and daring colour palettes and we’re thrilled to see that they brought this famous-fierceness with them to London Fashion Week. At the Fashion East: Asai SS18 show, the Fudge Professional team was led by sessionista-superstar Cyndia Harvey who created the ‘Warrior Angels’ brief, a look that channeled a strong feminine energy. Sporting low ponytails with high shine, the overall look was powerful with a subtle style nod towards martial artists (or we thought so anyway!). Very nice…
GET THE LOOK:
1. Dampen hair with water and apply a light layer of Fudge Professional Xpander Foam.
2. Create a centre parting and blow-dry hair back with a paddle brush.
3. Once hair is dry, take small sections of hair working from the nape and spray with Fudge Professional Skyscraper Hairspray to create structure for the ponytail.
4. Tie hair back into a low ponytail and secure with a zip tie.
5. Add two long feather hair extensions at the temples, then apply a leather headband over the top. Finish with Fudge Professional Head Shine for a high-gloss finish.
News added 19/10/17: WHAT. A. WEEKEND. Regarded as the biggest weekend in the global hairdressing calendar, Fudge Professional ensured that the brand was firing on all cylinders to create maximum impact with a presence at Salon International and the Tribu-te show, as well as hosting their bi-annual Train the Trainer event.
On Saturday, Tracy Hayes, global head of technical education, graced the HJ stage at Salon International alongside Mazella&Palmer to debut the brand’s latest collaboration – the ‘Clouds and Waves’ collection. With outstanding colour and beautiful shapes, there was a real buzz in the audience around each of the looks and we hope to be able to bring it to you in the next few weeks.
Then on Sunday and Monday, Fudge educators from around the world gathered to partake in the Train the Trainer event. After celebrating the successes and accomplishment of Fudge over the last six months, the educators were briefed on all the latest news, upcoming launches and the hottest cut and colour techniques to learn and share with colleagues back home.
On Sunday evening, Fudge Professional invited 40 of their international educators to the exclusive Tribu-te show – of which Fudge Professional was also a sponsor. Allied with the premium Tribu-te magazine, the show takes place in the beautiful Novello Theatre in London’s West-End and brings together the very best artists onto the most prestigious stage. It was a fantastic way to inspire the global educators who were able to watch Trevor Sorbie art director Tom Connell; Spanish team X-presion; Skyler McDonald; Kevin Murphy and Hooker&Young present their technical prowess to a packed-out audience. Topping off a wonderful day of education and inspiration, Fudge Professional then hosted a private party in the Ivor Bar after the show for all their guests where they could socialise and let their hair down. Huge congratulations to Fudge for showing all their educators some serious love this weekend – it’s what we like to see. #PlanetF
News added 06/10/17: Fudge Professional have future-proofed their Dry Shampoo by using Tapioca Starch in their forward-thinking formula. Unlike traditional Dry Shampoos, the Fudge Professional offering does not use talc which means no tell-tale white deposits which will be an instant hit with your clients we’re sure … and instead, favours the naturally absorbent Tapioca Starch. Getting technical here.. but due to its spherical shape, it refracts the light differently which gives a clearer appearance with no white marks. Whilst absorbing grease and oils to make the hair look and feel cleaner, this Dry Shampoo also imbues the hair with bounce, vitality and a texture. And to seal the deal, there’s the unique fresh apple and coconut fragrance. It’s a winner!
Katie Barker, head of product development at Fudge Professional says: “This Dry Shampoo gives your clients hair a brilliant, strong blast of freshness, whilst leaving no white residue – even if they’re re-styling their hair. Hair is prepped with texture and volume that lasts all day.” Sounds pretty good to us! Go on, give it a whirl…
News added 26/09/17: ANTI-ORDINARY is the new collection from Fudge Professional in collaboration with multi-award winning hairdresser and session stylist, Lisa Farrall. Inspired by androgyny and the desire to be disruptive, Lisa and the Fudge team pulled together to create a collection that uniquely uses a beautiful male with feminine features as the campaign muse, and makes the hero product of the shoot a mousse! Both moves are equally radical for many reasons, but serve to underline the brands commitment to pushing creative boundaries and their origins and expertise in the male styling market. Nice!
Hair was prepped with Fudge Professional’s Clean Blonde Violet Tri-Blo to neutralise yellow tones for cool, clean blondes followed by the new Xpander Foam, which was used to create the volume and enviable shine of the finished look. Full collection below…
Lisa says: “I have a great synergy with the Fudge Professional ethos. This isn’t just another hair shoot, it’s an androgenic anti-ordinary campaign. If it makes you think, then I’m happy!”

News added 14/09/17: For us, one hot ticket at each new season catwalk-fest is the Vin + Omi show at Fashion Week. Popping up earlier this week, slightly ahead of #LFW which starts today officially, the SS18 offering by the design pair didn’t disappoint. With their own style of conceptual fashion, the boys love to have a celeb walking for them and Blondie’s Debbie Harry made her debut walking for a London brand in their honour (she’s been wearing their clothes on her current Blondie Pollinator tour). The colours, the outrageous shapes and slogans – it’s fabulous to see hair fitting into the vision in such a big way. Bravo to Fudge Professional for inviting us. News added 30/08/17: As they do every season, Fudge Professional created three stand-out looks at London Fashion Week Men’s SS18 for Katie Eary, Christopher Raeburn and Topman this year. Topman’s SS18 presentation took inspiration from the new romantics nightclub scene of the 1980s featuring plenty of glitter and volume. At Katie Eary’s 90s club kids-inspired show, we saw rope-braids in vibrant, neon colours chosen by Katie and created using Fudge’s semi-semi-permenant Paintbox range. Christopher Rayburn’s SS18 show was inspired by the auto-biographical book A Long Walk by Slavomir Rawis describing his trek across the Gobi Desert, so the hair embodied a walk in the wilderness with a windswept, textured finish. Get an insight into how each look was achieved and the vibe of backstage LFWM right here:
News added 18/08/17: A little bird has told us that cutting and colour kings Mazella&Palmer will be launching a new collection this Autumn with Fudge Professional and we’re excited! With several seasons of successful collaboration under their belt, the duo work closely with Fudge Professional’s global head of training Tracy Hayes to execute precision cuts and colours that can be showcased at educational events around the world. We’ve managed to get our hands on a few backstage pics from this latest collection, and spotted Fudge Professional’s Make-a-Mends Shampoo and Conditioner and Tri-Blo featuring firmly in their kit bag. We’re told that Make a Mends was used to get the model’s hair in tip-top condition before the cutting and colouring could take place for the shoot. Then, Tri-Blo was used to prep the hair to ensure the most photo-ready finish possible. Nice!
We’ll bring you the new collection as soon as we have it, but in the meantime, why not browse Mazella&Palmer’s 2016 collection, Demure below:
News added 27/07/17: SUMMER? SALTED!
When summer rolls around, clients up and down the country are only after one thing – carefree, beachy waves with that characteristically undone, cool-girl feel. So it’s no wonder, Fudge Professional is watching their Salt Spray fly off the shelves this summer and why? Because it couldn’t be easier for your clients to achieve this desired look… Advise them to simply apply the spray to damp hair – directly into the roots – then scrunch through lengths and leave to dry naturally. Simples!
As well as giving a raw, textured look with real body, the spray also protects the hair from UV damage. Provides a crisp finish with hold (thanks to hard-setting polymers), anti-humidity ingredients and a divine fragrance (fruity mango and coconut) which combined make this salt spray a summer essential.

News added 21/07/17: LOYALLY BLONDE
Fudge Professional has delved into the world of blondes, commissioning a survey to discover how committed to their colour they are – especially, as we all know the maintenance requirements are high!
Fascinatingly, 81% of blonde-haired British women are completely loyal to their hair colour, even though 73% of blondes will spend an average of £600 a year to keep their blonde in tip-top condition. Perhaps, even more interestingly… 40% of women would rather wear no make-up than have no hair dye!
Going blonde is a real commitment, as many of us in the hair industry know but do your clients? Looking at faithful celebrity blondes such as Blake Lively, Gwen Stefani and Sienna Miller it is easy to imagine that blonde up-keep is easy. But we know it’s a different story. For example, do your clients know how to keep brassiness and the creeping yellow tones at bay? Staggeringly, no! 65% of blondes don’t know what products to use to remove brassy, yellow tones. Which is where you can come in… and makes a great retail opportunity too.
Tracy Hayes, global head of technical training for Fudge Professional says: “Hair becomes yellow or brassy because of many factors such as the sun and heat styling, but it all starts with the frequency of hair washes. The more you wash your hair, the faster it tends to go yellow. I always advise my clients to use a colour specific shampoo such as Fudge Professional Clean Blonde Shampoo. For everyday styling, Fudge Professional has launched a salon strength violet toning blow dry spray, Clean Blonde Violet Tri-Blo which instantly removes the yellow, revealing cooler, ashy blonde tones.”
Other key findings included:
• 76% of women agree that their hair colour is part of their identity
• 42% of blondes have changed their hair colour but with very little commitment, as within a year 54% of these changed back to their original colour
News added 13/07/17: You must get into the habit of photographing your before and after successes with colour – standard practice in dynamic salons is to post on Facebook which clients love to see. And since you’re doing that, take advantage of competitions such as this gem from Fudge Professionals. The brand’s annual Mixology Master 2017 is open to enter for two more weeks, so get a move on! Any age and stage of colorist is invited to submit a before and after colour look – remember to use Fudge products naturally! – which will be judged by a brilliant panel including expert technicians Tracy Hayes and X-Presion, Estetica magazine editor Gary Kelly. You can be in with a chance to win a fabulous prize including a two-night break in Europe, and a photographic shoot. The best bit is how easy it is to read all the rules on line and upload your pictures with your details. Simples. Visit www.fudgeprofessional.com
News added 12/07/17: Turn back the clock with Fudge Professional’s new three-step hair strengthening wonder… TREATMENT TIME MACHINE!
The new system repairs the hair’s inner and outer structure for demi-permenant results, with stage one and two delivered instantly in-salon and then a third step for use at home to lock in the effects for up to 10 weeks. Nice! So down to the nitty-gritty, here’s how it works:
• Step 1: REPAIR with Rewind Fuel
The first stage of the treatment is conducted in-salon, and instantly reverses damage, leaving hair up to 180% stronger. The two technologies essential in the rewind are:
• Keralink – which works to build and strengthen the bonds of the protein chain within the hair shaft’s inner cortex, for renewed resistance of the integral structure.
• Kerabind – made up of a golden keratin amino acid complex, it helps to bring robustness to the inner core of the hair and regenerate cellular renewal.
• Step 2: SHIELD with Seal & Armour
Next, this cuticle glue is applied to seal the hair, helping to regenerate the hair’s protective shield, leaving it up to 8x softer. Keraguard (a salon-strength treatment naturally derived from plant oils) is used here to actively work on the surface of the hair to repair and rebuild the protective cuticle layer’s lipid shield.
• Step 3: MAINTAIN with Top-Lock
The final stage can be completed at home, and cannot be missed as this is the key to future proofing your clients hair – leaving it 5x softer and smoother for up to 10 weeks. Now, which of your clients would turn down that opportunity?! Using Keralock, this product locks in the great work of step 1 and 2, ensuring the demi-permenant conditioning and longer-lasting, colour vibrancy between salon visits that we all strive for.
We’ve tried and tested it, and suggest you join us and future proof your hair NOW! #PlanetF

Tracy Hayes, Global Head of Technical Training at Fudge Professional says, “These colourful looks are perfect for the last weeks of Summer. To create, the hair needs to be pre-lightened to a light blonde using Fudge Professional Speed Bleach…the colour palette is then limitless with Paintbox! Lilac Frost and Coral Blush are two new pastel shades, whilst the Whiter Shade of Pale can be mixed with all the colours to create pastels. Apply one shade throughout the hair, or get creative and add multiple colours from roots to ends. The choice is endless and, as pastels fade, you’re free to change your look come Autumn.”
News added 24/08/16: The summer is finally hotting up and that means your hair needs help! Fudge Professional’s Dynamite is an intensely hydrating and deeply penetrating créme designed to protect, repair and restore dry and damaged hair. Dynamite means that your hair can have fun in the sun too as you no longer need to worry about dryness or bleaching; hair will be fully protected from harmful UV and other environmental aggressors.
“During the hot summer months your hair is exposed to intense sunlight, which can be detrimental to the condition of your hair, causing it to dry out and split. In order to combat dry frizzy hair it is essential that you condition, condition, condition! Treat your hair to a twice weekly deep conditioner – Fudge Professional Dynamite is ideal.” Sue Lever, Education Specialist at FUDGE Professional.

News added 04/08/16: The London School of Barbering collaborated with Fudge Professional recently to create a collection that represents a variety of professions and lifestyles undertaken by the modern man. The black and white photographer adds edge and grit to the selection of slick groomed looks created. We love!
“The concept of the shoot was to bring together a versatile group of individuals from different backgrounds and to give them haircuts that represent their lifestyles. The haircuts that are on show also represent the creativity produced by the LSB art team. The art team are made up from a collective of talented teachers and barbers who are changing the way we see the new modern man. They are passing these important skills and knowledge on to our students, who will be the next generation of highly talented barbers” Michael Kontos, Creative Director at London School of Barbering
News added 26/07/16: The salt spray is undoubtedly the product for summer when clients nationwide are hungry for that achievable, tousled, beachy-wave texture. Fudge Professional’s Salt Spray has been developed to create an instantaneously sexy, just-got-out-of-bed look that is coveted by girls everywhere. The fruity fragrance and strong hold mean that it is a kit-bag staple with the Fudge Professional team and one that they wouldn’t be without this summer. Make sure you snap one up too.
Styling tip from Sue Lever, Educational Specialist at FUDGE Professional:
“Plaits always look good on the beach and help to keep hair out of the way whilst sunbathing and swimming; they also create lovely soft waves for night time. Protect hair with a UV protection spray such as FUDGE Professional Salt Spray before braiding. Then, before heading from pool to bar, shake out hair for gorgeous tousled locks and add another spritz of the Salt Spray to enhance waves for a look that screams Grecian Goddess!”
News added 20/07/16: It is testament to the rise of the male grooming industry that we now receive trend reports for mens hair. Hurray! London School of Barbering and Fudge Professional have collaborated to create four looks that they predict will be super hot this summer, and we think they’re on the money. From subtle fades to the shaved head, have a browse and let us know what you think.
The Skin Taper
Last year was all about fades and they are here to stay with the introduction of the skin taper. A skin taper is a mini skin fade on the side burns and nape, which doesn’t affect the length of hair elsewhere. This technique gives clients more options when it comes to length and style, especially through the back and sides. It’s super versatile, and maintains a clean look and feel.
The Low Fade
Another popular fade trend for S/S16 is the low fade. Building-up the weight in the fade will allow a longer length on top to provide balance, so the style doesn’t look top-heavy. The weight also creates a squarer, masculine shape which will suit almost every client. It does limit you to what length you have on the back and sides though, but we think this is a super look and worth the sacrifice.
The Shaved Head
The shaved head is going to be another hit this Summer. It is important that the head is not completely shaved, as this can make your client look a little thuggish. By having a longer clipper grade on the top, you create an extremely low maintenance and long lasting cut. Clients will love this as it has a tendancy to make you look younger and fresher. Having a good strong hairline is a must for this look at it can exposes any thinning areas that longer hair disguises.
The Messy Side-Part
The side-part is a real classic look for men but this summer expect to see a more relaxed and casual version. Texture through the top will be another trend this year, and the contrast using texture in a typically neat style and set creates a very interesting effect for the client. We think it says, ‘your easy going, yet well groomed and take care of yourself‘.
News added 15/07/16: On Tuesday we took our places at the Rosewood Hotel in London to learn about the latest additions to Fudge Professional’s impressive product portfolio. The innovative Curve collection features two new styling products – Curve Maker and Curve Recovery – which will be hitting the shelves in September and we’re already excited.
The event was led by Sue Lever, Education Specialist and Events Coordinator at Fudge Professional, who explained the technology behind the products, and also how they compliment current hair trends. “Not only do statistics tell us that over 60% of the world’s population have textured hair, we’re also seeing a real trend for natural curls and texture on the catwalks.”
Session-stylist, Alexis Day presented two pre-styled models using the Curve Maker and Curve Recovery to demonstate the products’ results on both textured caucasian hair and extremely straight asian hair. Then, Michael Kontos, Creative Director at London School of Barbering enhanced the curls of his model by layering the two products together to both tame and refine his natural hair texture. Guests were invited to get up close and personal with the models with Alexis and Michael standing by to any answer questions. We think the Curve collection might just be a game-changer; watch this space…
News added 04/07/2016: In an exciting move to showcase both awesome cutting and styling as well as brilliant colour work, Fudge Professional introduced the talented team at Mazella&Palmer for a ‘Core Collective‘ show in Manchester recently. We likey like! Choosing a venue at the iconic Old Granada Studios in Manchester, Fudge Professional were intent on showing that this is the brand we’ve loved for years, but with a fresh focus on traditional craftsmanship blended with bang-up-to-date techniques and trends. We joined more than 400 industry professionals who were clearly impressed, to judge by the paying of attention followed by the rousing applause!
It was a treat to see the renowned Tracey Hayes, global head of technical training for Fudge Professional on stage alongside star presenters Faye Turner at Mazella&Palmer, Claire Whittaker, technical educator at Alan Howard, and the main man himself, Jean-Baptiste Mazella. And another stellar performance from the other big name on the billing – the newly re-launched Fudge Professional Paintbox colour range. Tracey left us in no doubt as the power of Paintbox by showcasing an innovative sectioning technique to create a pastel rainbow. It’s a look we’re seeing gain plenty of coverage in the glossy magazines and celebrity news channels, and fabulous to see live and done to best effect with the Paintbox palette. There followed similarly intriguing ideas on how Fudge Professional Headpaint could be used to subtle effect on male clients, leading onto a presentation of the latest trends for men and the versatility of Fudge Professional styling products. So much, so good.
Full marks to Core Collective for content and creativity and sharing the inspiration, the potential and vast possibility of Fudge Professional products. To finish? In true hairdressing fashion, guests were treated to an #PlanetF aftershow party to dance the night away.
