News added 20/02/18: Alistair James AW18
If you’re going to sponsor a show at London Fashion Week, you really want to make it a memorable one and the team at Fudge Professional certainly made a statement with their choice. ‘Sisters of the Moon’ was the theme of Alistair James’ AW18 show, taking inspiration from cults, tribes, early 80s punk and even witches! With a variety of looks created on the models, there really is something for everyone. Session stylist Johnnie Biles (at the Frank Agency) led the Fudge Professional team, using the hero products closely associated with the 80s i.e. plenty of mousse, gel and hairspray. We think one of the most stand-out looks from the show was the ‘Chelsea Cut’, so we tracked down the step-by-step for you below:
1. Apply water and Fudge Professional Xpander Foam to hair and comb forwards. Rough dry.
2. Comb Fudge Professional Hair Gum from roots to ends. Apply heat, brushing hair forwards with styling brush while drying.
3. Apply compression net and finish drying hair using a diffuser for a super flat finish on top.
4. Apply Fudge Professional Hair Gum to ends for a wispy, fluff-free finish.
5. Finish with Fudge Skyscraper hairspray and tweak texture at the crown to add interest.
News added 14/02/18: IT’S ALL IN THE MEMBRANE
Fudge Professional’s Membrane Gas is part of the brand’s hard-hitting armoury of products designed to challenge and re-define how we style our hair. Recognising the ever-changing and dynamic nature of the hair world, Fudge Professional equip you with products that give you the power to transform, manage and manipulate the hair whilst exploring a galaxy of styling and finishing possibilities. And we think, that is pretty cool!
The brand’s signature Membrane Gas is a strong, creative texturising gas with heaps of memory. Versatile in nature, it can be used for both styling or finishing to shape, re-style, re-work, mould and hold the hair (hold factor 10). Plus, there’s zero-stiffness thanks to its innovative resin technology. Uniquely, a blast-diffuser actuator delivers a rush of gas and couples with a super-fresh, green unisex fragrance – we think it’s a real winner. So why not give it a whirl?
HOW IT WORKS:
For hold: Spray evenly over finished style
For texture: Spray over head and texturise with fingers as desired
For curls: Spray prior to creating curls with irons or tongs
News added 02/02/18: TRAVELLING TRACY
The hardworking Tracy Hayes – global head of technical training for Fudge Professional – travelled to Poznan recently to share her colour wisdom and technical prowess in a one-off seminar in Poland. Presenting to E Hair (Fudge’s distribution partner) and 40 of their top customers, Tracy was joined by colourist Sophie Dale and Jason Dyer of Haircut Club.
For the colour section, Tracy and Sophie focused on creating clean blonde bleaches, enhanced with beautiful toners. This was followed by a cutting demonstration from Jason, who inspired the audience with an array of techniques that rendered striking results on longer hairstyles. An editorial section drawing inspiration from a recent Chanel catwalk show closed the seminar, in which hair was adorned with pearls and fused with braiding techniques.
As always, the seminar was a great success! Audiences were delighted to see the full scope of colour possibilities from Fudge’s iconic Headpaint range – loving the soft apricot coppers and brunettes with hidden depths of deep violets and navies in particular. And from the Paintbox range, Sophie and Tracy demonstrated an array of beautiful soft washes to further inspire. All the looks were finished and styled by Jason, who demonstrated perfectly the power and versatility of the brand’s backstage kitbag staples.
