Booking a celebrity host for your event is more tricky than you might think. Apart from cost – and some of these A-listers command £20K upwards for an evening reading the autocue (and beware, no rehearsal, no meet-and-greet either) – it’s quite a challenge picking someone to appeal to all your guests. The most important point is to really think through how a celeb with fits with your brand?
Headmasters UK Awards
Arriving at the annual Headmasters UK Awards in London last week (best described as being always upbeat with an ‘eat, praise, rave – repeat’ mantra), we were impressed. With more than 3.5million Twitter followers and another 1.5million on Instagram, 26-year-old reality TV star Joey Essex proved the most excellent of choices. Oh yes! This cheeky chap read the mood perfectly. He quickly had a rambunctious crowd of youngsters cracking up at his efforts to follow the bigger words on the autocue. His invitations to ‘do shots’, and generally how he charmingly greeted and bigged up the awards winners.
To our delight, Joey also quickly won over the press by happily striking different poses and making faces for the obligatory ‘winners-with-presenter’ photographs. When the production team hiccupped through technical errors which slowed proceedings. Joey leaped to the rescue and keep the atmosphere light with banter that distracted and entertained guests. Bravo Headmasters – you’re our winners on celebrity host choice! Oh and the ultimate value for money. Joey has posted out with @headmastersuk to his 5million plus social media followers several times. Result! Click here to see the low-down on the night and tons of pictures:
