Tommy Hilfiger AW18

lilly@ihaa.co.uk ghd: always a good news story

For the perfect, laid-back and low-key spring style, we’re looking to the recent Tommy Hilfiger AW18 show with Gigi Hadid for inspo. Collaborating with the designer on the collection, Gigi was the epitome of cool-girl chic as she hit the runway to open and close the show. Matching the Formula One-theme of the show, ghd Fashion Week ambassador Eugene Souleiman created a super speedy style for the star-studded model line-up.
“People don’t have the time anymore. Hair needs to translate to the modern woman,” says Eugene.  Weaving tiny plaits into the hair, Eugene added a simple detail that can fast-track any look to festival season spring style. He continues, “[the look has] been done with haste but still appears styled but natural. It’s a beautiful look with lots of texture created using the new ghd gold® professional styler. It encompasses the Tommy lifestyle, too – young, fun and free but with a bit of an edge.”
It’s so simple, your clients will love it. Find out how to get the look:

  1. Comb the hair into a center parting – a flattering look for everyone.
  2. Then, roll the hair into two soft buns (one each side of the head) and diffuse for a couple of minutes using ghd air® hairdryer. Leave hair to cool for a couple of seconds before unravelling.
  3. To enhance movement, use ghd gold® professional styler  to bend random sections of the hair. Eugene explains: “What we’re doing is something quite different, to get a looser, more natural feeling to the hair we’re bending hair around the styler and as we’re taking the hair away we’re stretching it so that it’s more of an “S” curl – less opulent, more understated. It’s more of a modern style, you’re still adding a bit of structure to the hair but it’s more relaxed.”
  4. To finish the look, add micro braids to random sections of the hair and gently clamp along the end of the braid with the ghd gold® professional styler to secure the braid without using an elastic and to give a lightly-crimped, dual texture.
